Last sane GOPer Christie Whitman asks sane finalist Jon Huntsman to run 3rd party
"Whitman, a Republican, said a third-party effort by Huntsman is the way to go because she believes it’s unlikely he has much of shot at the GOP nomination. “I don’t see that kind of traction unless he can pull off a surprise in New Hampshire, where independents are allowed to vote,” she said.

Whitman, who headed the EPA under former President George W. Bush, serves on the board of directors of Americans Elect, which is trying to get ballots lines in all 50 states and have delegates take part in an online vote to select a bipartisan presidential ticket."

I support this Third Party run (but will vote for President Obama)

2. I wouldn't be happy about this. I think Huntsman is the same
kind of moderate, cerebral candidate as Obama, and could well draw support from him -- paving the way for a Conservative to take the win with, say, 35% of the vote.

3. She may be sane but totally discredited
She would have a hard time being elected dog catcher anywhere in NJ. She started her term with great promise, but ended it with this - http://www.nytimes.com/2000/07/11/nyregion/frisking-photo-puts-whitman-on-defensive.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm (Note the man was already found to not be doing anything wrong BEFORE this.)

Then she told NYC residents that the air tested acceptable a few weeks after 911 - when that was completely not true.

6. Christie was once "the next big thing" in GOP politics
Edited on Sat Dec-03-11 07:30 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
The supposed moderate who was supposed to win over women to the party.
In today's GOP, that bodes about as poorly for your political future as winning the "Best New Artist" Grammy.

7. Time to grasp the fact that sanity and being Republican are
mutually exclusive. If she or Huntsman were sane, they'd no longer be GOP. Aside from her abysmal record, her lies to the people of NY and the US, she is a hard core member of the nut party, her peers are Cain and Bachmann, she stands with them still. You call that sane? I don't. Crazed and without honor, that's what I call her.
