Idle curiosity, but I've always heard that the magic number to start new threads was 10 |
|
I recently noticed a new member manage to start one with <= 4 past posts - rule change? Curious why.
My real question though, is about the workings of Ignore: I've noticed that if I have a poster on 'Ignore threads' (great feature, by the way!) but not on 'Ignore replies' their posts are listed in thread tables of contents, as they should be. However, if I click on that post from the TOC to view it, I get the message "Error: you are ignoring the author of this thread." To view the post, I have to go to the top, choose 'View all' and scroll on through.
It seems odd to me that that particular error message even exists - if I'm ignoring someone's threads I should never even see them to click, so when should that error message be needed? Also, it would be really helpful to be able to click directly to replies in very long threads, even if I'm ignoring OPs from the particular poster.
Thanks for reading! (Sorry for the long-winded description...)

1. The magic number is 10. |

Unless you are a donor, in which case the magic number is 0.
As for your question about ignore, that seems like a bug. I will let Elad know.
