URL issues when posting content from Crooks & Liars Website

Earlier today I posted:

http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/california-wingnut-arrested-outside-

...which resulted in a "link not found" error when people tried to access it.

This has happened in the past with links from Crooks & Liars.

A fellow DUer replied this morning that if you add the "-" at the end of the link it works, but I copied and pasted the link...including the "-"...and when you look at my post on DU, the "-" appears at the end of the URL I pasted, but not as a part of it.

It happened here:

1. This is a problem with the way our software figures out links.

I think you can do a work-around using the forum code to put a
link behind a bit of text. Try this:

[link:http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/california-wingnut-arrested-outside-|TEXT]

[Amerigo Vespucci]

2. Thank you Skinner, I will try that...

It only seems to happen when they include the "-" at the end, so I'll format future links that include it the way that you suggest.
