On the other hand, that thread is an excellent illustration of what so many of us see as the problem, in that it is deliberately calculated to antagonize us and both the OP and his tag team partner have very long histories of (consequence-free) antisocial behavior here, quite a lot of it directed at the LGBT members of this community.

Debating policy and strategy is a great thing, but declaring that members of DU's LGBT community are childish, unreasonable racists (and probably undercover Log Cabin Republicans besides) does not do anything to build support for the party or create a sense of community here. It only takes us back to the kind of toxic atmosphere that we have lately made real progress in putting behind us.
