I just had to get this off my chest.

The following two links to me at least are demoralizing. As soon as I saw the pictures I knew what was sure to follow, and sure enough it did.

On this link I alerted on certain messages and they were deleted. But as the thread progressed it was the same old comments. So I alerted on the whole thread.

The last two links in your posts were locked by the moderators. So it appears that they agreed with your assessment.

As for the first picture (Marcus Bachmann eating a corn dog), I think that is not a clear-cut case, and I think it is well within the discretion of the moderators to leave the OP open. Yes, some of the replies were inappropriate, and I am sorry about that. But I don't think we have any evidence to conclude that the person who posted the OP had any malicious or even inappropriate intent. We cannot know what is in someone's heart. And let's face it, the picture is utterly ridiculous. Marcus Bachmann looks like a fool. He is an ultra-conservative cretin, married to another ultra-conservative cretin who could be the next president of the United States. He and his wife stand for everything we oppose, which means he is fair game to be ridiculed here on DU -- as long as the ridicule is not insensitive to our fellow DU members.
