Teabagger favorite, Cruz, wins Republican primary (U.S. Senate), faces Dem Paul Sadler.
This is for the seat of Senator Hutchinson.

Perry had endorsed his opponent, Lt. Gov Dewhurst, a 1%er who had spent $19 million of his own money on the campaign.

Among those endorsing Cruz were Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Dick Morris, Michelle Malkin, Sean hannity, DeMint, Rand Paul and frothy Rick Santorum.

He will face off against Democratic Rep. Sadler. I had a hard time finding a story about Sadler's winning the primary.

No Democrat has been elected to statewide office in Texas since 1994.

4. It will be money well spent, I hope, whether he wins or not.
If it helps him, even a little, make better showing in Texas, it will help the left.

So, thank you.

6. I donated $50 to Franken when he ran, but I called the campaign.

The kid who picked up the phone sounded so tired and despirited. When he found out I was calling from Massachusetts to make a donation, unsolicited, he got so enthusiastic and energized.

And then, I got enthusiastic and energized.

Since then, I love making out of state donations. I always imagine they will make someone as happy as that young Democrat in Minnesota.

So, while $50 was not much, it sure did a lot for at least two Democrats maybe more. So you never know.

Thanks again, I am sure it will be appreciated.

P.S. Sadler's said that Sader decided to run after General Sanchez, of Abu Ghraib fame, dropped out. So I checked Sanchez's wiki.

2012 Senate campaign

Having previously entered the race, Ricardo Sanchez announced on December 16, 2011 that he would not run as a candidate in the Democratic Party primary for Texas' open U.S. Senate seat in 2012.<7> In a statement to his followers Sanchez stated:

“I am very grateful for the strong support and encouragement I have received from supporters across the country and the wonderful Texans I have met in every part of our great state. However, pressing personal challenges, coupled with the recent loss of our home due to fire and lagging fundraising numbers make a statewide election campaign impractical for me at this time.

“After extensive consultation with my family, Maria Elena and I have decided to put family first and I will therefore end my campaign for the 2012 U.S. Senate seat as of today.

“I am blessed to have made friends with so many great Texans on this journey. Their personal stories and their love for our homeland will continue to inspire me as I look ahead and consider future opportunities for public service. I remain steadfast in the desire to serve both my country and the State of Texas to help bring new, responsible, and fair-minded leadership to our government. May God Bless Texas and May God Bless America. ”

I wish I had known! If anyone had a chance of winning in Texas, it might have been Sanchez. Where the hell was the DNC and the Senate Campaign Committee? And this is why Democrats have to be careful about donations.
