Every now and again, something will make me curious about a poster's DU profile. |
|
Today, I happened to see a post at DU3 that was funny enough to make me want to note the poster's name.
I did not recognize the name, yet the poster had a high post count. So, I looked at his or her profiles. Let's call this poster poster #1.
This is what I learned.
During 7+ years at DU2, poster #1 averaged about 113 posts a month, or an average of about 1357 posts a year.
At DU3, in a bit over a year, poster #1 has made well over 5500 posts, over a thousand of which were made in the last 90 days.
(FWIW, poster #1 has already served on a jury over 140 times.)
Looked up one other poster because he or she made a point of mentioning his or her post count at DU3 versus DU2. let's call this person poster #2.
In almost 8 full years at DU2, Poster #2, whose name averaged about 45 posts a month, and about 541 posts a year, for a cumulative total of over 4200 in almost 8 years.
At DU#, though, poster #2 has already made over 3600 posts in under 13 months.
(FWIW, poster #2 has served on a jury about 200 times.)
I wonder what makes DU3 seem so dramatically much more "post-worthy?"
What else might account for the dramatic acceleration in number of posts?

1. Because they want to convince us that Chained CPI is a good thing? |
|
Or Republican education strategies are right for America? Just a guess. I can no longer access DU3.
DU3 was working fine for me for a couple of months, although I did not post. When I click on the DU3 URL nothing happens. I would like to at least read some of the articles and responses. They even allow Freepers to read DU3. I must be on the Group W Bench list or double secret probation.

Did you ever sign in there while the link was working for you? What happens if you click on this http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022130053

3. Yes, I did sign in while there. |

I even sent three different PMs and got responses. Everything seemed alright. Now we are right back to where we were before.
The link does nothing. You could give me any link on the entire internet and it would work. But DU3 will not work. Explain that. I insulted the President? Damn right I did. If I was a younger, healthier man, I would kick his ass.

5. I'm more concerned by someone wanting to serve on the Jury |
|
As much as I may not like a particular poster, I refuse to engage in Censorship, nor do I put people on Ignore.
If I were a troll, though, I would do my best to censor posts that didn't agree with my philosophy. The best way to do that is to get on a Jury.
I've posted inflammatory material, just to see the reactions of the trolls and Jury. Hate to say it folks, but the game at DU3 is rigged.
Anyone who pushes the envelope won't last long. It's a controlled environment.
