Man accidentally shoots himself at Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show
:eyes:

Yeah, yeah, yeah...we all know the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is to arm all the good guys with as much firepower as they can carry.

But how does one stop stupid guys with a gun?

"INDIANAPOLIS - A man shot himself after leaving the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Saturday, police said.

While no loaded guns are allowed inside the show itself, a man who had just left the South Pavilion was reloading his gun in the parking lot when he accidentally shot himself in the hand, police said.

The man was listed in stable condition. No one else was injured.

The event is expected to draw record crowd in Indianapolis this weekend.

In North Carolina, two people were accidentally shot and wounded at a gun show at the state fairgrounds there.

Semi-auto pistols are dangerous. Lot's of folks get hurt or killed by accidental discharges.

2. Couple of years ago, a little kid, at the show with his Dad, got killed as his

father, a doctor, videotaped his 8 year old shooting an Uzi.

(So much for guns being self defense, protection against tyrants, etc. When you videotape an 8 year old shooting an Uzi, it's not about any of those things. It's gun lust.)

Earlier, the doctor, his father in law and his 11 year old son were shooting a larger Uzi.

The found a smaller Uzi for the 8 year old to shoot (so they had an idea about a powerful weapon being too dangerous for an 8 year old.).

Surprise, a small Uzi is still too powerful for an 8 year old.

The father was not charged because he was not a gun expert and supposedly had no way of knowing that putting an Uzi in the hands of an 8 year old was potentially dangerous. (Not the way the story worded it, but that is the bottom line.)

The parents of the dead 8 year old sued two dealers and settled for $700,000.

Now, they are suing a police chief who sponsored the show.

Story is full of gut-wrenching irony.

3. a gun toter posted on HP that all these accidents are happening because... (brace yourself)
President Obama has so many people rushing to gun shows that all the new people there stressed out over his actions are leading to accidents (I'm sure I expressed his view better for him than he really did, but I can't knuckle-drag very well when typing, haha)

but, yeah... it's Obama's fault! not these idiots with deadly weapons. the guy in Medina OH who shot his buddy was a DEALER, and he had just bought the assault rifle, and was discharging it, if you can believe that insanity, and pointed it away from people, and shot it at the ground, it hit the concrete and bounced off something else I believe, and lodged into his business partner's body. He's fortunate he didn't take one to the head. And, that asshat is fortunate he didn't kill a random 10 yr old innocent girl with her dumbass father or mother there at the gun show!

gun toters... paranoid motherf.....

5. I've read that some folks believe Obama is even more directly responsible...
Edited on Sun Jan-20-13 02:22 PM by Contrary1
That it was a set up to make guns look bad. Actual Constitution-hating Liberals volunteered for the charade. Those who lined up first got to choose their role...shooter or shootee.
These were the five who showed up late.

7. The 8 year old about whom I posted was killed in 2008. And Cheney shot Whittington in 2006.
So, Senator Obama's fault, I guess?
