Remember that 2008 FISA vote that Obama promised to fix after he became President?

(I can't believe I believed him, though I do specifically recall saying to myself, "But, what if you lose?")

Names of Democratic Senators who did NOT betray us are bolded. I bolded Sanders, though he is an indie, because he does caucus with Dems. Sadly, too many of those whose names I bolded are no longer Senators.

The rest of the Democratic Senators, including Obama, stuck it to us, plain and simple

A word of caution, though. There could have have been some kabuki in the votes because all of the Republicans who were present voted for it, predictably (only McCain and Sessions on the Republican side were not present and only Kennedy on the Democratic side ). So, they did not need that many Democrats voting for it in order to pass it.

Final vote: 69 aye, 28 nay, 3 not voting.

2. Worse. I bolded too many names after Stabenow. You can see the "Yea" vote of betrayal after each

name in the OP, though.

The bit starting with Stabenow should have looked like this.

Stabenow (D-MI), Nay
Stevens (R-AK), Yea
Sununu (R-NH), Yea
Tester (D-MT), Nay (bit of a surprise?)
Thune (R-SD), Yea
Vitter (R-LA), Yea

Webb (D-VA), Yea
Whitehouse (D-RI), Yea
Wicker (R-MS), Yea
Wyden (D-OR), Nay(He's consistent!)

When will I ever learn to check my work, as my first grade teacher told me?

Maybe, if she had not hit me on the top of my head with her book early on, I would have paid more attention to the witch.

I just copied the whole record of that vote and pasted. I have no idea why Clinton and Feingold fell out.

I should have done what most posters would have done and simply posted the link, but I tried to make it easy for the reader, at least ats to the Senate. (Too lazy to bold 105 names in the record of the House vote, though.)

But, I digress....To answer your implied question, surprisingly, perhaps, Clinton voted nay. (Trying to recoup the love of liberals after losing the primary to Obama, just in case she ran again in 2012 or 2016?)

Not at all surprisingly, Feingold voted nay.

Of course, Feingold was also the lone, one and only, Senator of any political party to vote against the Patriot Act in 2001. (Sanders was not in the Senate then.)

McCain, who I believe was a bit ahead of Obama at that point, was absent.

Maybe he was busy then saving the U.S. economy from the effects of Gramm, Blilely Leach, named in part after his former campaign financial advisor, Phil Gramm. Or did that come later? (How quickly we forget!)
