Geez, Louise.
So, I flipped over to MSNBC tonight. I have no idea why.

Anyway, I caught a bit of the Chris Hayes Show. He was mocking the idea that McConnell cared about breast cancer, as Mrs. McConnell had apparently claim because of some bill ole Mitch had sponsored.

How did Hayes "disprove" this? In part, by citing the fact that McConnell had "blessed" the sequester, which has resulted in loss of funds in Mitch's state for breast cancer.

:wtf:

As Chris Hayes must surely know because he is a nerd and because his living depends on knowing factoids like this, the idea for the sequester CAME FROM THE WHITE HOUSE.

The Democratic Senate passed it with 74 YEAs and 26 NAYs. Only 6 of the Nays were from Democrats.

Obama signed it.

How in hell did McConnell "bless it" any more than Obama, or any of the Democratic Senators who voted for it, right alongside Mitch?

The way both sides hurl disinformation at the American people is nauseating.

BTW, the final Senate vote, described in this post, was on the bill with an amendment. An earlier version had passed with unanimous consent.

With 5 not voting at all, all but 10 House Democrats voted against it. However, all 239 House Republicans voted for it, making the vote 249 to 178. Therefore it carried.

Inasmuch as the bill was going to sail through the Senate and the House, no matter how House Democrats voted, it was a perfect opportunity for a kabuki vote; and that is what I think this vote practically screams.

PS. I really hate it when someone's rank dishonesty makes me feel obliged to state facts that support any Republican, including Mitch.

1. Woodward wrote that the White House suggested the sequester
Politico and WAPO fact checked.

They saw that the specific person in the White House may have been Jack Lew.

However, I think it may also be worth nothing that in 2009 Obama had proposed an across the board cut of 5%, not in a compromise about the debt ceiling, but simple because he wanted to do it.

2. We have to save our money for
a big war and possible Middle East-wide conflagration. My trust of this administration is very near zero.
