I wish the ladies of The View would care about facts as much as they want us to care
about their political opinions.

I like the ladies. However, they make millions bloviating on a major network about politics every weekday, yet apparently feel no need to be fact based. It's fine to put false info out there, as long as they are blissfully ignorant of the facts. Joy Behar (now among the View departed) and Whoopi Goldberg were particular offenders in that regard. I did not keep a log of their disinformation, and I do not remember specific examples. However, I promise you, they existed.

This morning was not an outright dissemination of false info, but a display of absence of info. However, I doubt the majority of viewers caught it.

Whoopie Goldberg was shouting about the government shutdown, saying that Congressional pay should be withheld because Congress should be like everyone else. And, of course, the audience predictably applauded.

Maybe.

However, the Constitution of the United States, which everyone making millions bloviating about politics on national TV should have read start to finish at least once, IMO, says that you cannot reduce the compensation of Senators and Representatives.

That means that not only can you not take any of their pay, you cannot even padlock their gym or dining rooms. Congressional staff members are another matter because their jobs and compensation are not protected by the Constitution.

Seriously, ladies of The View. Read the Constitution or stick to interview people who are selling their books and movies.

1. You seemed to have completely forgotten the worst offender
on The View, that being Elisabeth Hasselbeck. I guess you forgot because she is now on Fox "News" where she belongs.

When someone on TV expresses support for my position (The Democratic Party position) I allow them a little leeway even if they are wrong. Especially considering we are being bombarded with 24/7 365 misinformation by the Fascists in the Republican Party.

I confess, I am mystified by your position.

Her opinions and spin were off the wall, for sure. However, I could not recall an outright factual error. Then again, I never tuned in every day.

"When someone on TV expresses support for my position (The Democratic Party position) I allow them a little leeway even if they are wrong."

I am not sure that I understand. Surely, the Democratic Party position is not that Congress should not be paid during a shutdown? If it is, the Democratic Party damn well needs to read the Constitution, too.

"I confess, I am mystified by your position."

Not sure why. Perhaps because you are reading it much more broadly than I stated it?

My position is that people who make millions of dollars by, in part, discussing U.S. politics for the first half of show every day should at least read the Constitution one time.

Fox is what it is. It is a Republican propaganda arm and doesn't pretend to be anything else. Correction, anyone who believes it is something else should be in someone's watchful care 24/7. I never watch it. I almost shut my eyes if I am only flipping channels past it.

The View, on the other hand, is on a major network and is supposed to be giving us different views about the events of the day. Opinions are opinions. But, I think it behooves them to get their facts straight. Hell, no one pays me to post, and my audience obviously does not number in the millions, but I try to get my facts straight before I post them. And, if I catch an error, I try to come back and set things right.

Whoopi was not being partisan, only looking for an applause line based on bad info.

3. Hasselbeck is a living, breathing factual error.
She is a better looking, less intelligent version of Ann Colter.

Coulter ever got a spot on a Sunday talking heads show. It didn't last, but still...I think it was George Steph, too.

5. I just remembered--once, a long time ago, Behar mentioned on air that EH was calling O'Reilly every
day before they went on air to get that day's talking points.
