Netflix Asks for Your Help to Pass HR 2471

Michael Drobac, Netflix's director of government relations , posted a request for help in passing HR 2471, which would enable Netflix to enable offer Facebook integration features in the U.S
to wit:
"please email congress to urge them to pass this modernizing legislation."

the comments on the Hacking Netflix blog, which carried this story are VERY interesting, especially in light of Netflix's recent decision to split the company into two parts.
( some say there is a plan to sell streaming to Amazon).

So, Friends features in Netflix were taken away, as were identity of reviewers, but now, Hastings wants to combine all those features on ...Facebook.

read for comments and etc:

1. Hubby and I were thinking he's going to sell the DVD section
They don't offer DVD's in Canada or Mexico - only streaming. And streaming is keeping the 'Netflix' name.

As for the Facebook thingy - he can shove that up his arse - not interested.

2. What i am wondering is....
if every time I go to Netflix, does he sell my info to Facebook even if I am not a FAcebook member?

and why is Facebook so damn eager to get every single website affiliated with it?
Ever look at all the cookie tracking that goes on when you visit some sites?
"waiting for facebook" is one of the things that flashes up.
