Has anyone else become ruthless in baling on a video if they don't immediately like it? |
|
When I have a dvd I feel like I should try and watch it even if I do not like it right away. Even more so if I go out to the movie theater to pay to see a flick. But with Netflix Streaming if I don't like a movie or a series pretty much right away I move on to something else. There's just so many of them and more keep being added all the time.

1. I've done it twice since I got Roku. |
|
Both were sub-titled, which I didn't realize when I put them in my queue, and I didn't feel like dealing with them! I like to lay on the couch when I watch movies, but I have to sit in my chair if it's got sub-titles. Bummer.

2. My trouble is that I am often surfing the web or reading DU while the tv is on. |
|
If the dialog is in English I can at least keep up and look up now and then. Subtitles is a no-starter.

Having thousands of songs on my iPod has created a situation where I bail on albums and songs without hesitation as well. I occasionally fear for my attention span, to be honest.

5. I really am. If it doesn't grab my interest in 10 minutes I am done. |
|
The trouble is that it's so easy to do and there so many other videos out there.

6. When a TV Series I have really... |
|
enjoyed is near the last episode of the final season, I find myself not watching the last one or two episodes.
This is dangerous, I know, because shows come off instant all the time.

8. What's really bad coming to the last episode of a tv series you've enjoyed, |
|
but was canceled is to discover there is no resolution to any of the story lines.
It is a bummer to reach the end of a series knowing there are no more, ever. That's how I felt about the partial season of "Firefly".

I may give a show or movie 5 minutes.
Like you said, to much to watch.

10. I give things about 20 minutes. |
|
Unless someone has told me to watch more before flipping it off, when something is on tv, I give it 20 minutes.
Recently, I turned off The Girlfriend Experience. I gave it 20 minutes. That is 20 minutes of my life I can't get back. I hated it, and I generally like Soderberg. But this... yuck.
