America Is Tired Of This Shit

September 11, 2024

Stuart Stevens (Lincoln Project) has this mea culpa. . .

. . .he was once upon a time an old GOP campaign hand, but he left the GOP the same time as Rick Wilson (around 2016) because he could not stomach TFG, or fellow Republicans who enabled TFG. . .

I worked for Mitt Romney. He had a great debate with President Obama in Denver. He demonstrated why he was qualified to be president and offered an alternative to incumbent.

But the debate did not disqualify President Obama, any more than John Kerry’s first debate disqualified President Bush.

Last night, VP Harris disqualified Trump. He was exposed as a fool, a know nothing who can’t distinguish between fantasy and reality. He astonishingly said he would not have honored Article 5 of NATO, the linchpin to post-WW2 peace and prosperity for Western Alliance. He showed he lives in this make-believe world where Americans overwhelmingly opposed Roe v Wade.

He was humiliated, dominated, left sputtering “Get off my lawn!”

That dangerous fool is the legacy of the modern Republican Party. All those Rs I helped elect, when your careers are studied, this is what you will be remembered for.

Shame. You failed a test as Americans. The worst generation

Here is a story about TFG and 9/11. . .

. . .in light of a recent DU thread about TFG's demeanor during NYC's 9/11 ceremony today.

The full story can be found in sports/golf writer Rick Reilly's book Commander In Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump. It was during an interview Reilly had with TFG while visiting Trump Tower:

Vice Presidents (The Lincoln Project)

Democrats and Republicans don't often agree on much. But when they do, it speaks volumes.

Cruel (The Lincoln Project)

Liz Cheney will endorse Colin Allred. . .

. . .who is running for US Senate in TX to oust that POS Ted Cruz.

(This is in addition to the earlier DU thread saying that her father Dick Cheney has endorsed Harris/Walz for POTUS)

https://www.texastribune.org/2024/09/06/dick-cheney-kamala-harris-liz-cheney-colin-allred/

Liz Cheney, a Wyoming Republican. . . endorsed Democrat Colin Allred in his race to beat Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz.

Liz Cheney endorsed Harris earlier this week at Duke University. She has been one of Donald Trump's chief critics, calling the former Republican unfit for office since the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Since losing her House seat, Liz Cheney has worked to beat back election denialism in the Republican Party, in some instances supporting Democrats.

“One of the most important things we need to do as a country as we begin to rebuild our politics is we need to elect serious people,” Liz Cheney said. “Here in Texas, you guys do have a tremendous, serious candidate running for U.S. Senate.”

The audience erupted in applause cutting Liz Cheney off.

“It’s not Ted Cruz," she said.
