Donating to Senate candidates - incentives and disincentives
I really really want to take back the Senate. I do have a Visa card but am not rich and Visa comes calling, so I need to allocate my funds carefully.
I have noticed that some of the candidates have "matching" programs in place.
How does this work? Who is doing the matching? If 101 people donate $27 dollars each that puts the matching sum over the $2700 individual limit, so I suspect we are talking about funny money here.
I am donating what I can afford. So it seems that if we all share a common goal the entity that is doing the matching should donate all that it can afford, in which case I can reserve my limited funds for deserving candidates who do not share such access to windfalls of unlimited largess.
