Roasted Mushroom soup

Found this in a newsletter and thought I would try to make it.
My wife approved of it. Good solid mushroom flavor.
serves 4
Roasted mushroom soup. Uses about 1.5 lbs of mushrooms, about 4 shallots, and 1 can of white beans.
Chop and roast/broil the mushrooms and shallots (quartered) with a little oil and salt and pepper.
Heat up about 1.5 quarts stock of your liking and add the drained and rinsed beans. Add the roasted veggies to the stock while withholding about a 1/4-1/2 cup for garnish.
Blend until smooth.
I served it with crunchy bread and a salad.

I will be getting a test text

On my cell phone, Handy, here in Germany. They are sending out a message to check emergency notification systems.

Does anyone know if any states do such a thing?

Relaxed today

Tried to avoid most politics. Made Sunday breakfast and rested my foot. Bone spurs are acting up. Trying to avoid surgery. Went with my daughter to watch our local soccer team as it toils int eh 7th division of the Bundesliga. Nice to sit int eh sun and watch the game. Just sit back and relax.
Now to ice my foot before bed.
Good night all.

Diner soup and salad

Decided to do something more in tune with the thermometer only reaching 9 C today.
When life gives you lemons, make avgolemoni soup. Used the mixed bird stock from the freezer and risotto rice. Reviewed a few recipes to come up with one.
The only trick is to temp the eggs and lemon juice mixture before you add it to the soup at the end.

Franken phone/camera?

This is interesting. Xaomi is unlikely to be sold in the US, I think, and this may not hit real production. But putting an interchangeable Leica M lens on a phone...

Justice Alito

Can I call you Sam?
Sam, you recently took issue when people questioned the legitimacy of the court on which you serve.
Have you rethought your statements? In view of the latest development in the Georgia grand jury subpoena
of Senator Graham of South Carolina, have you had a change of heart?
Sam, here is a judge who reached out and took a case which should have been adjudicated by others to block sworn
testimony by that senator. That same judge has a wife, who may be impacted by that testimony so he has a
clear conflict of interest. In fact there is a federal law stating that he has to recuse himself because of his wife's
position.
What is your position on this Sam? Why wouldn't this lead people to think that the court on which you serve has
problems with legitimacy? I'm not a great legal scholar. However there are a few who think this decision is a real
issue for the court. Perhaps you can explain it in a manner a lay person can understand.

First pumpkin pie

Of the season.
I have to pick up more pumpkins and see how they store in our cellar.
No freezer so I only have room to freeze about 2 pies worth. Getting the filling here is not cheap.
