8. Well lookee here y'all the title is the part that contains the misspelled
word. You can't expect more from Oklahoma's T.V. stations than you do from those in the rest of the country (read the bs below this story!) especially in Lawton, a major "army town". They may have forgotten how to spell the word "College" since some years ago Oklahoma's Legislature (definitely a match for the Texas Legislature Molly Ivins describes so well) slapped all Colleges in the state with the label "University" so higher tuitions could be charged. (No, I'm not kidding) I'm not sure why OU is written, "O-U" in one place but The University of Oklahoma was a great place after it finally kicked its Jim Crow approach at about the time of the Brown decision and before former Democratic Senator David Boren, a major sellout and whore, was made its president and started bringing in rwnuts to speak. The faculty remembered Oklahoma's past as being a part of the South Central Region's socialist past, they remembered Thomas P. Gore, Gore Vidal's grandfather, one of the first Senators from Oklahoma. They lived in a place where, in most counties, when a person registered to vote there was only one party in which she/he could register, i.e., the Democratic Party. <http://www.ou.edu/special/albertctr/archives/gore.htm> The following is still true of the University (my school!): "OU ranks in the top five in the nation among all comprehensive public universities in National Merit Scholars enrolled per capita and in the graduation of Rhodes Scholars."

U.S.A.I.D ought to be amended though to say, U.S.A.I.D/C.I.A.

Oklahoma schools to help collages in Iraq

(Lawton-AP) -- A team of Oklahoma colleges and universities will offer their expertise to help revive Iraq's higher education system.
Cameron will provide technical support to Iraq's universities and technical colleges to connect Iraqi universities to the Internet.
A grant of almost five (M) million dollars was awarded yesterday to the University of Oklahoma for the project. O-U will partner with other universities in order to meet the goal of improving universities in Iraq.
In addition to OU, Oklahoma State University, Langston University and Cameron University will head up the project.
Their aim is to meet the goal of the U.S. Agency of International Development to provide any help and support services to Iraqi higher education institutes.
