I understand that they moved up the primary, so it was BEFORE the filing date. It had been AFTER the filing date.

In the old system, once Joe had lost to Lamont, it would be too late for him to file, and he's be lame-ducky.

But some idiot lawmakers in Hartford forgot to move the filing date up the same amount as the primary day. Hence, Joe could take his lumps and rebound as an independent.

At least that is how I understand the timing issue went.

You know, they've been legislating for nearly four hundred years there in the Nutmeg State. You'd think they'd be beyond this...
