what the army does is this...

its less experienced lawyers start off as prosecutors.

generally, the more experienced lawyers become defense attorneys.

Plus the defense generally has the advantage of having the same resources as the government.

So what ends up happening is that the system much more closely follows the spirit of innocent til proven guilty then the civilian courts.

However, make no mistake, the prosecutors assigned will do their best to get a conviction, these are generally qualified, especially on a case like this, and talented attorneys, but my thoughts are, especially knowing all of the defense attorneys at Fort Carson, is that the defense counsel(s) will have some success on the behalf of these soldiers...that doesnt mean the army is "slapping them on the wrist".

And again I caution that we maintain the spirit of innocent til proven guilty, there is nothing more liberal than that mindset IMO.
