An incumbent who is not clearly ahead during the campaign loses the election.

Undecideds go for the challenger in the end. The reason they are undecided is because they think the incumbent has done a bad job.

Bush is on a path to lose, and lose big.

As long as Kerry doesn't blow it.

As long as Kerry appeals to patriotism, God, Motherhood, Apple Fricking Pie, and the rest of that stuff, he can't lose. And I have confidence in Kerry in that respect, he's a smart, smart guy. He is not going to screw this up.
