Of course, the psy-ops expert replied with some nonsense that soldiers lives would have been in real danger if the army hadn't kept the media from reporting the truth. It was clear even then that Iraqis never fell for that bit of propoganda, so to use the excuse that the truth posed some threat is a lame way of covering for the reality that the administration was really only interested in events that could sway American opinion. If they cared what Iraqis thought, they would have protected the museums and made a better effort to avoid civilian casualties.
