6. The plan went awry.
I think the Bush administration knew there would be an attack, but as usual, underestimated the scale of it. They thought a plane or two might hit the WTC and maybe a couple hundred people would die (the attack had to be on a larger scale than the 1993 attacks in order for them to rally the American people to support PNAC).

Anyway, Bush was told to sit tight and act natural when he got the news. That's just what he did, except he sucks as an actor.

Later, he panicked on AF1 (away from the reporters, of course). Bush on the phone: 'WTF, Cheney? You said only a couple hundred people would die.' Cheney: 'Shut up you little shit. You're in on this too. Just remember who's going down if it gets out that YOU let the attacks happen!'

Okay, perhaps that wasn't the way it was, but if the W.H. can just make up sh*t, why can't I? Didn't want to scare the children, indeed.
