10. Two different theaters, two different responses
The first time I saw "Saved!" it was playing in the regular old multi-plex. Though I live in a conservative area, the audience was pretty large. And there was some laughter, though there were spots in the movie I thought were so witty, so devastatingly spot-on about Fundies that I felt I should guffaw out loud, and the crowd didn't seem to be quite as amused. They laughed, but in a polite sort of way.

The second time I saw it, it was playing in the local art/foreign/indie film theater. And people were laughing their asses off. Not to be snotty, but the latter theater just attracts a more discriminating brand of filmgoer most of the time. They "got" this film.

Definitely not a "Passion of the Christ" for teen-agers.
