13. Sadly A Lot Have Been Alienated
I've worked on Democratic campaigns since before I could vote and this past year spend thousands of my own dollars and hundreds of hours. The results included helping one of the few Democratic house pick-ups in the country...taking a seat in a "Purple" area. When I attempted to discuss this with others here, or to suggest this party needs serious work on the grassroots level, I'm called every name in the books from many who I helped with my emotional and financial support.

There are lots of good ideas, but Democratic ideals are good, just there's no interest right now in being honest about where things stand. It's so much easier to hold pity parties.

The DNC, DLC and DFA are like circular firing squads, and yes, there's no place for those of us with contrary views to even express them, yet suggest constructive alternatives that could help achieve a lot of our long-term goals.

Truthfully, I'm very burned and not about to get kicked in the head again.

Cheers!
