Saudi Arabia needs us close but doesn't want more bases. Turkey doesn't want us to use their country either. With Iraq we now have the space for many military bases and air fields. Any unrest in the ME could have a terrible effect on all world economies. Something had to be done to create stability, but this bunch was/is far to ignorant on how or when. We have been ignorant and still are,causing too many to die. We don't even know how to talk to them!! At the end of the second WW we had thousands of bi-lingual people, who were able to make communication simple, not translators making many mistakes.
