19. We seem to have accepted the premise of the PNAC document
that Global hegemony is our natural destiny.That we can enforce our hegemony through any means including use of genetic warfare techniques, space based weapons and the like. Gone are the days of pretense that we are a law abiding nation that will not enter into war unless provoked. Even the idea that our leaders are virtuous men while the foreigners have vile and corruptible leaders is a pretense that has come apart.We are beginning to resemble more and more the enemies of our recent past, the Nazis and the Soviets.And without even the fig leaf of shame that used to color our media's portraits of ourselves as a "shining city on a hill".
