December 28, 2004 --

KARL Rove must've made some New Year's resolution but what we pitiful mortals need wait and only sloooow wwwly discover. Bush's Brain accepted a special invite to Roy Innis' annual Congress of Racial Equality dinner on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Nailing superhot Super-Karl as Guest of Honor is a coup — so I asked how come? Said CORE exec Niger Innis: "Rove increased the Latino vote, Asian vote and, in battle states, doubled African Americans from 8 percent to 16 percent. He's coming because his mission is to fully integrate our people in every aspect."

Detractors will readily agree I am not overly bright and don't know what I'm talking about — but seems to me smart Rove already won what he needs and got his man elected and doesn't have to kowtow, cootchy-coo or make nice with anyone anymore. So? Why's he honoree? Might be, could be Super-Karl has some plan down the road, some idea up his sleeve, some bee in his bonnet or some shtick around the bend?

Anyway, it's Jan. 17, the Hilton.
