about workers' rights in the event of a disability? My partner is on medical leave and getting long-term disability pay due to a serious illness, but does hope to be able to return to work some day. Well he got a call yesterday from the HR dept and they told him they were going to have to hire someone else and if he wanted to return to work later he could have the job back, if it was available. In other words, "You're fired." At least they waited until "after" Christmas. Well, it seems to me that firing someone because they are ill should be kind of illegal or something. Any ideas?
