I agree that we tend to use the term indiscriminately. Back when on the late, great Media Whores Online, where the term gained currency, I suggested that we be more precise: Actual, known Wingnuts in the media are NOT whores--they are being true to themselves, their sincere ideology. The real whores are the ones who claim to be objective journalists, but who slant their stuff, or else who sway this way or that according to what they perceive the trend to be.

The true Wingnuts are the "johns" not the whores. I sure wish we had somebody on our team willing to let it rip. The closest we've got are namby-pambies who go up to the cliff then say, "Oh, but Nancy RAYGUN and Pickles are SUPER people. Dems in the '80s were WRONG to criticize Nancy. And Shrub is a NICE, LIKEABLE guy, personally." (BEGALA)
