"I hope that the people of Ohio will understand that this mistake, although serious, was unintentional."

Coincidentally, Bob Taft would not have wanted the voters to know about the golf outings with a scam artist who bilked the taxpayers of Ohio out of millions, and allegedly funneled it into the Buxh/Cheney campaign.

Would Bob Taft and the Ohio State Dept of taxation be as understanding if I "inadvertently" neglected to include out of state purchases in my state tax forms? ....How about 47 of them?

Oops...Did I forget to pay for that gas again?
Uhh...I guess my wife forgets to mail that check every month.
Darn...I've been forgetting to renew my license plates since 1988.
Oh...is that your pen?

When "mistakes" consistently benefit the errant, the intent is hard to ignore.

Coincidentally, a vast majority of voting discrepancies in Ohio fell in favor of GWBuxh's tally.

I'm one of the "people of Ohio" who understands all too well.
