36. Whoa!
The war is certainly a major problem and the senseless death of anyone is a serious tragedy and horror. I wouldn't ever minimize that.

At the same time, the U.S. apparently feels that it can ignore the rest of the world and do whatever it damn well pleases. Why is that? Because we have the most powerful weapons? Because G-d likes us best? Because we refuse to live modestly? Because we are "the new Zion" and "the city on a hill"?

I think the war is a symptom of some really screwed up thinking that's been around for a long time, and I think we'd best get over it before it's too late and before events force us to get over it real fast.
