From within your own Party may contribute that feeling...

And, early on, the chips were definately stacked against Dean - which may contribute to that perception.

It's been a unique and tough experience for his campaign, I would imagine. Going from long-shot to front runner in such a short amount of time. I think that would explain some of the stumbles or gaffes along the way.

Is it the only driving force of the Campaign? - No. It's always been about Dean and HIS message. The reaction of other campaigns and the Media is a seperate issue.
