Fact...Carter successfully negotiated the final terms for the safe release of the hostages.

Fact...after being let down by the failure of the Special Forces and inaccurate intellegance info, Carter took responsibility for this and refused to take any military actions which would endanger the hostages lives.

Fact...Carter closely followed every step of the negotiations until the hostages were finally released during his last few moments in office during Reagan's inauguration.

Fact...a military assault on Iran would have endanger the lives of the hostages, especially when considering the destined failure of the special forces rescue attempt.

Based on your knowledge, did any hostages die?

What better alternatives could Carter of used to insure that all hostages were released alive?

Most importantly, where did Carter fail in this crisis?

The facts indicated that, having all the hostages released alive was the best possible outcome...better than the terrible outcome of 9/11 under shrub's incompetence!
