17. That was what I thought, too.
Maybe it was because I remember the book "Peyton Place."
But when Jenna went in to have an emergency apendectomy on Christmas night 2000 and that family values father of hers went fishing instead of worrying over his daughter, I thought something was fishy.

The next day he said she could go home and clean her room or join them in Florida. That sounded more like a Dad who was angry at his daughter. There was no compassion, concern or sympathy for his child.

Speculation:
I think she came home for Christmas thinking she and a boyfriend could get married if she was already pregnant. She thought she had her father over a barrel, he would have to allow it. He said "I'm not having the Merican people countin' months. You are not gonna have any baby." Then he made a few phone calls and told her he'd found a doctor who was going to take care of everything. "Go get your coat on, we're leaving now." He made sure the deed was done then left for Florida.
