3. Live albums can be very iffy.
"Waiting for Columbus" by Little Feat is one of the best live albums I've ever heard. Coltrane's Village Vanguard albums are also excellent. "Live at Leeds" by The Who is one of their best albums. "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" by The Rolling Stones is also very good.

And who can forget "Frampton Comes Alive" and Cheap Trick's "Live at Budokan". And the Johnny Cash live prison albums are unbeatable!

But some do really suck!
