I just moved here to Gainesville about four months ago, and I can tell you I like it a whole lot better than Atlanta, where I lived for twenty years. Being a new arrival, and middle-aged, I don't know much about the music scene. But judging by the editorials in the paper, and the existence of things like a strong recycling program, bicycle lanes everywhere, and the number of anti-war yard signs I saw back in March, I'd have to say it's not bad for a small town. Having lived in DeKalb County, Georgia during the 2000 election, and now living in Florida, I'm looking to hook up with some locals concerned with promoting a verifiable paper trail for elections. Anyone interested?
