Right before our cross-country move last summer, my SO's truck was stolen right out of our driveway. We were still in Austin at the time, and the APD were less than helpful. No real investigation, etc. Miraculously, the truck turned up about 8 days later. The thieves put 1600 miles on it and totally trashed it, but at least it came back and we could make "final arrangements."

It's always a bummer when this happens, but don't worry too much about your vehicle. They usually don't come back to the same neighborhood, unless they're looking for a particular type of vehicle. Make sure you lock your truck and leave an outside light on.

Hope it turns up unscathed. Bummer, yes.
