Not only did we not have a baby monitor, we never had a stroller, highchair, or theme decorated nursery, and our daughter managed to become a fine young women in spite of it all.

Oh yeah, she never had a sip of formula and we used cloth diapers too.

Our version of stroller was a backpack carrier, highly recommended.
She had a little rolling chair with tray that went all the way around it and she ate there. When she was bigger, she had a booster seat made of a large box of books..

We did have a little clip on chair that was very useful and because she remained very petite, we were able to use for quite some time. We would just hang it on the table and she was right there with us.
