191. On the road to the Sun Yat-Sen Masoleum
Dr. Sun Yat-Sen is considered the founder of modern China. After the Emperor was overthrown (see the movie "The Last Emperor"), a shaky republic was in place from the early 1900s to when the Japanese invaded in the 1930s. Dr. Sun was considered the founder of this short-lived Republic & is still considered the person who led China into the modern era. He is buried in a beautiful complex in Nanjing, China... probably rolling over in his grave at how extravagent his burial site it when it was the sort of thing he condemned in the Emperors before him.
