It's a lovely town with a winding creek running through the downtown.

It has retained many of its charms, but the main street economy is in the tank, the manufacturing is all but gone (Jell-O was invented and made right here until the mid 70's). It has become a bedroom community --too far to be a suburb so thank goodness there is very little sprawl, but the downside is there is very little growth. The economy all over this area has been in a downturn for years.

Winters are fierce and last too long. Summers are nice, and it's beautiful here in the fall when the leaves change.

I'm politically active and we are lucky to hold a majority both in the town and village government, but the ratio between Dems and Rethugs is about even. Our county as a whole has way more Republicans.

We never lock our doors and my keys stay right where I can find them -- in the car.
