A little more seriously, maybe something cutely Teutonic like, say, Hansel, Wienerdog, Schnitzel, Heinz (oops, too close to "pickles").

My mom had a dog once and couldn't think of a name - ended up calling him diogi (dee-oh'-gee). We told everyone that it was Italian for dog.
