13. They're also the only places the candidates get to speak
Listen to the "campaign coverage" on national and local news. It's all some overpaid bobblehead spouting off about the horserace or the travel plans, never about issues and never allowing the candidates to speak for themselves. What passes for campaign coverage is a disgrace.

The conventions are the only place we get to find out what the parties stand for. We need to have them televised on the networks. If they're nervous about time, they can tape the speeches and broadcast them back to back without color, commentary, choruses, or the rest of the BS.

People need to know what's going on, and this is the only place they're allowed to find out.
