most of us (and that includes some decent Republicans as well) manage to find empathy for members of the "other tribe" (other people, other animals, plants, whatever-- whatever "isn't us") and care for and lend them assistance. That's one of the bases for an ethical system, one of the most important things that makes us what we are-- this capacity to emerge from a seemingly Hobbesian, amoral world and yet to grasp (and forge) a moral system in its midst.

Those Freepers and LGFers who show no empathy and trash the Louisianans and Missippippiers as folks who "deserve it" are pathetic. fear-ridden little turds who are too afraid too acknowledge their own kinship to the people who are suffering, so they turn against them. Losers, all of them.
