You are a hardworking progressive who decided to get involved in the political process on a grass roots level because of some political issue which to you is also deeply tied to ethics and morality and the role of government.

You bust your butt against an opposition machine for many many many years slowly making progress...winning elections here and there, but every election is a fight, every candidate seemingly on the edge of defeat.

After a few years, filled with modest success and some setbacks finally the national movement you are a part of finally has a breakthrough and seizes power.

We're talking decades of hard work, money spent, elections participated in, mailing lists, blogs, local organizing, letters to the editor, you name a grass roots activity..you did it.

So now, after the cause you have fought so long and so hard for finally has an ally in the White House and a majority in Congress. The President (who only got elected because of the hard work of your movement, leaned heavily on it, and praised it to the high heavens) decides that instead of making a decision that directly benefits your movement, decides to wimp out and pick some middle of the roader who could go either way, and hasn't really shown any support for your cause one way or another.

How would you feel?
