To be sure, Bush's aura of moderation has completely slipped away. So while people are not in campaign mode, it will be a hard sell for Bush to suddenly parade a few Blacks and Latinos and pretend he's not a fascist. Most people intuitively know that Bush is a far-rightist, I think. To some, that's a good thing. But moderates, the largest bloc of voters, will definitely go for Kerry by a wide margin. Of course there are more "conservatives" than "liberals," so we need a big moderate victory margin.
