In 2008 who knows what the political landscape would look like.

I can say with just as much certainty that Hillary would carry the entire midwest and some of the south in 2008 as you can that she wouldn't.

You overestimate both the resistance to a woman President if a credible candidate were offered (it's still high, no doubt), as well as the dislike of Hillary (that's not high), and you underestimate the desire for change in the country now.

If Hillary ran today she'd win across the board. In 2008 she could still easily win in a landslide but if not, still win outright across the country.

You'll see once she starts running.

Since this topic is focused around Al Gore let me just say that I see the same situation for him.
