A pleasant surprise at the poll...YOUNG volunteers
Advertisements [?]
Usually the only people we can get to volunteer are senior citizens, because few other people are able to devote an entire 5:30 am to 8:00 pm day. But my son and I just finished up here in Ned Lamont country, and the checkers there were at least five teenagers working along with the regular volunteers. And while the lines were pretty long, everything moved quickly and smoothly, no more than 10 minutes total. But it was cool seeing some young people getting involved. I hope they don't wind up thinking it was all for naught!
