the results of impeachment are removal from office -- nothing more . . . it's a POLITICAL action designed to protect the nation from irresponsible and/or criminal officials . . . something that can also be accomplished through Constitutional checks and balances now that we control Congress . . .

if we want justice -- and we certainly do -- we investigate, gather evidence, and build the case . . . and, when the time is right, haul their asses before the appropriate U.S. and international courts . . . where suitable punishment can be meted out . . .

impeachment investigations and proceedings would take up most of the next two years -- when they'll be out of office anyhow . . . it's a waste of time and energy when there is SO-O-O-O-O much else that needs doing . . . and, again, it won't result in punishing the perpetrators for their crimes . . . only the judicial system can do that . . .

two years is a very short time in politics . . . we need to focus our energies on beginning to solve some of the myriad of problems BushCo has created over the past six years . . . that's what Democrats were elected to do -- to address the war, healthcare, minimum wage, jobs, the environment, New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, etc. . . if we can't do that and demonstrate that Democrats can indeed govern, our majority may be very short-lived . . .
