There's not many options for women. I saw a lot of prostitutes in Africa. It didn't take much to push a woman into a situation where prostitution is the only way to keep food on the table. It could be a simple thing like crying out during circumcism, or not bleeding on their wedding night. Also there was no obligation for the husband to stay home. They can just walk away and not have to provide for his family. These conditions were under a Christian Theocracy. I don't see women faring better under a Muslim Theocracy.
