Ms Clinton:

A couple years ago you went around the country with of all people, Joe LIEberman touting Welfare Reform and how wonderful it is when you know darn well from the numbers right in front of you, it is plunging entire families into life long poverty. Furthermore, you are well aware it demeans the work women have done since time immemorial, saying that community building and family care is now codified into law as "doing nothing" and that a minimum wage job is more important than a child. It forces newborn babies to forfeit their mothers into the never ending cycle of illness as they languish in day care instead of being cared for by a parent and able to build up a sttrong relationship, so they can never bond closely with anyone for the rest of their lives. It forces women into low paying and deprives children of their parents and leaves them alone in front of the TV ~ or worse to find trouble because they are left after school with little or no direction.

I wrote you a letter of despair and anger at the time, but you did not even acknowledge it. Plus I had friends in NY city who stood in front of your house while you pretended they were not there, asking you why did you waffle so much on low income issues? Instead you and LIEberman as well as that despicable, heartless self-absorbed idiot Rudy Guiliani, you supported his undermining of good union jobs with workfare workers who worked for pennies on the dollar and displaced all those good city jobs and while undermining those same families. THIS is what you and Joe said was SO wonderful, right there under your nose.

You know if you are the candidate, I will vote for you, but I will wretch and hold my nose. For your future support however, this is *no* way to begin a presidency unless you come clean about what I speak as well as the war, your silly pandering flag burning amendment, and all the other wing nut things you have supported. Otherwise you will not have a whole lot of support for the things you want to get done, and face it, you already have enough baggage to carry. I applaud your stance on health care, I am glad you have changed your mind about the war and lack of support for the soldiers, but I worry Ms Clinton.

Because we already have endured almost a decade of someone who is even willing to send his own countrymen to their deaths rather than admit a mistake. I ask myself, "Do we really need someone else who is the same way? If you think taking care of families is "doing nothing" how can I expect you to stand up for us in things like health care and family leave, if you cannot convince the government and private industry parenting IS a full time job and worthy of everyone's support?" At least your husband was contrite and apologized ~ and to be honest this is why, to this day wherever he goes people amass and cheer and why everywhere his predecessor goes people riot.

VERY Sincerely Yours,

Cat In Seattle
